Terms of Sale and Use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. Provider and scope

Outspoken is provided by Artesoft GmbH, Hirschengraben 20, 6003 Luzern, Switzerland (info@outspoken.ch). These terms apply to buying and using Outspoken for Mac.

2. Free trial

The trial lasts 7 days from the first launch of Outspoken on your Mac; if you installed Outspoken before licensing was introduced, the 7 days start with the first launch of the version that requires a license. The trial is free and needs no payment details. After that, dictation, transcription, the interpreter, text recognition and the AI features require a valid license.

3. Price and payment

A license costs CHF 59 per year. You pay through a yearly subscription with PayPal or with Payrexx (TWINT, card, PostFinance Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay). It renews automatically every year at the price then applicable until you cancel it.

4. License

A license entitles you to use Outspoken on one Mac. To move to another Mac, activate the license on the new Mac and confirm the move there; your current Mac then deactivates itself. For this, Outspoken must be running on your current Mac and connected to the internet, and both Macs need a current version of Outspoken. If one of the two Macs still runs version 1.0.10 or earlier, update Outspoken on that Mac, or first deactivate the license on your current Mac while it is online (Outspoken › Settings › License › “Deactivate this Mac”). If your current Mac is broken, lost or stolen, our support will help you (support@outspoken.ch). You can move the license to another Mac at most twice a day; if you activate with version 1.0.10 or earlier, an additional limit of at most three moves within 30 days applies.

Outspoken checks the license with our server when an internet connection is available. Without a connection, an activated license keeps working until the end of the paid period. After each renewal, Outspoken briefly needs a connection once, no later than 30 days after the renewal date; otherwise the license pauses until your Mac has been online again. If your license was activated before this version of the terms, this applies once Outspoken has checked the license with our server afterwards; until then, the previous 30-day period applies.

5. License key

After payment, you receive your license key by email at the address you give when you buy — for PayPal, at the email address of your PayPal account. Keep it safe and do not share it.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel the subscription at any time: in the app, via the link in your most recent email from us or at outspoken.ch/cancel/. Your license stays valid until the end of the paid year.

7. No refunds

Try Outspoken free for 7 days before you buy, in the app, with every feature and no payment details (section 2). We do not refund years already paid, including on a pro-rata basis when you cancel. If a payment is reversed or, as an exception, refunded, the license ends immediately and the subscription is cancelled. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

8. Warranty

We build Outspoken with care. Speech recognition and the AI features (cleanup, rephrasing, translation) can make mistakes and, in rare cases, change the meaning of a text; check the results before you use them — especially important texts. We cannot guarantee that Outspoken always runs without interruption or errors. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

9. Liability

We are only liable for intent or gross negligence, to the extent permitted by law. Your data stays on your device; we are not liable for its loss, so please make regular backups. Mandatory liability, for example under product liability law, remains unaffected.

10. Privacy

How we handle data is described in our privacy policy.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. For an active subscription, changes only apply from the next renewal, and we will let you know by email beforehand.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Lucerne. If you are a consumer living in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules and statutory place of jurisdiction of your country of residence remain unaffected.
